    Announcing 2020 TAU International Summer Program Scholarships for U.S. Students!

    TAU International offers scholarships for our summer programs! Summer scholarships for applicants from the U.S. are open to undergraduate and graduate students currently attending a university located in the U.S.(also to graduating high school seniors) who are applying to any TAU summer program, including Ulpan and other language programs. Both merit-based and need-based in nature, students should meet at least one of the below criteria to be eligible; preference is given to students who meet two or all three criteria:

    • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 (85/100) or above (your most recent transcript must be uploaded to the TAU Portal when you apply for the program)
    • Can demonstrate financial need (applicants are required to submit most recent tax return forms and FAFSA if applicable)
    • Applicants who are visiting Israel for the first time

    Eligible summer programs are: Arabic, Hebrew Ulpan, Business & Entrepreneurship, Cyber Security (both Fundamental Technologies and Advanced Policy and Strategy), Smart Cities, Middle East & Jewish Studies, Summer Internship, Focus on FinTech Summer Internship Program, Summer Research in the Sciences, Epidemiology, Advanced English and Food Safety & Security. Please note that to be considered for a scholarship, in addition to completing this form you must upload a copy of your most recent transcript to your application on the TAU Student Portal (when uploading, select the "non-valid record of studies" document type if you don't see "Transcript" as an option).

     

    Minimum award amount is $500; maximum amount ranges depending on applicant qualifications. Applications for Summer 2020 are now closed; Summer 2021 information will be posted in late Fall 2020. Students must have already applied to and been accepted to the summer study abroad program in order to be considered for the scholarship. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so it is recommended that student apply ASAP. Once the scholarship application is submitted, please expect a processing time of 2-3 weeks before you receive any response. 

     

    The Bechtolsheimer Israel Friendships Scholarship

    Introducing a new scholarship opportunity for TAU International non-Jewish students from the United States who have a desire to study and experience Israel!  Students accepted for short term, study abroad and full degree programs at Tel Aviv University International are eligible to apply for this funding opportunity. Recipients of the Bechtolsheimer Israel Friendships Scholarship are encouraged to demonstrate their commitment to Israel and their study experience by documenting their experience via social media, blogs, photo journals, newsletter articles, vlogs or essays.

    Summer Programs: April 30

    Study Abroad Fall/Year: July 1

    Full Degree: July 1

    Study Abroad Spring: December 1

     

    Students can apply for the scholarship at any time, but must have applied and been accepted to their TAU International Program in order to be considered for the scholarship and/or receive award.

    Minimum award amount is $500; maximum amount ranges depending on applicant qualifications. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 30, 2020 (for the Internship and FinTech Internship programs, students should apply by March 25). Students must have already applied to and been accepted to the summer study abroad program in order to be considered for the scholarship.     Peisach Scholarship Fund

    The scholarship is destined to accepted* candidates from Latin America and Brazil enrolling in any international program (Short Term Programs, Semester-Year Abroad and Full Degree Programs - Undergraduate and Graduate).

    * Candidates must first apply to the program of choice and be accepted.

     Students from Brazil

    The Brazilian Friends of Tel Aviv University has established a fund to support Brazilian students to come and study at Tel Aviv University. These grants can be applied to help cover tuition for participation in our International Undergraduate Degree Programs.

    *Scholarship recipients are required to be from Brazil.

     Students from Mexico

    The Mexican Friends of Tel Aviv University has established a fund to enable students from Mexico to come and study at Tel Aviv University. 

    All programs (from full bachelor and master degrees to short summer programs) are eligible to apply. If you are selected, you could receive up to 50% funding for your program.

    Rolling Admissions

     

     Students from Uruguay

    The Uruguayan Friends of Tel Aviv University is intended to support students from Uruguay who have been accepted to study at Tel Aviv University in a Study Abroad Program, Gap Year, MA, BA, BSc, Ulpan or a Summer Program. Recipients of the scholarship must be from Uruguay. The scholarship is intended to support the overall costs of participation; award amounts will vary according to the program and the applicant but will not exceed more than 50% of the program cost.

     Students from Austria

    We are excited to announce that the Austrian Embassy will provide several scholarships to Austrian students who are joining our summer programs. The scholarship amount is 500 USD. Students will need to apply to the summer program of their choice and then get accepted and confirmed. You can find a list of summer programs here.

    Scholarship applications will only be reviewed once the student is accepted to the program. Scholarship applications are due May 15, 2019.

    Australian Friends of TAU - Scholarship

    Friends of Tel Aviv University have established a fund to support Australian students to study at Tel Aviv University. This funding will help cover tuition and will be available for any TAU International Program taught in English such as: Academic Gap Year,  Study Abroad programs (summer/semester/year), Bachelor’s degree programs, and Master’s degree programs.

     

    Students will need to apply to the program of their choice and be then accepted and confirmed. Scholarship applications will only be reviewed once the student is accepted to the program. Apply by clicking here.

    Tata Trusts, in collaboration with TAU, has established a fund for outstanding Indian students, in the Graduate level or higher.

    Tel Aviv university together with the Israeli Council for Higher Education offers partial scholarships for Indian students for the short term program Food Safety & Security at TAU. Partial scholarships are available by merit for eligible students who’ll apply for the program online  and for the scholarship here

  • Additional Scholarships

     

     

    Lone Soldiers - The Sean Carmeli Fund 

    The School of Political Science, Government and International Affairs has established a fund to support former lone soldiers studying at Tel Aviv University named in memory of Staff Sergeant Sean Carmeli (z"l).

    The fund's goal is to provide former lone soldiers with the support they need to better integrate into Israeli society via higher education.

    Scholarships are open to students of any discipline enrolled in a BA or MA program at Tel Aviv University. Qualified candidates are required to have served a minimum of one year's time as a lone soldier in the Israel Defense Forces.

    Required Application Documents

    • 1 updated copy of their CV
    • Proof of enrollment at Tel Aviv University 
    • Official lone soldier certificate from the IDF (אישור חייל בודד)
    • A 1-2 page essay outlining their military service, academic and/or professional career goals, and commitment to the betterment of Israeli society

    Applicants are required to disclose all forms of external assistance they are receiving from non-governmental organizations and/or private parties. Due to Students receiving full-ride assistance from organizations such as (but not limited to) Keren Heseg or the FIDF are barred from applying to the Carmeli Fund.
